About a year and a half ago, I decided that being in a clan isn’t the thing for me Photobucket So  I naturally declined samuriclan124’s offer to be a part of his HALO CE clan (it was the first clan invite I got through this BLOG!). It’s a good thing I did, 8 days after he posted the above message on his blog , he decided to start a Kingdom of Hearts clan Photobucket The attention span of kids these days Photobucket

HALO Trilogy Tribute : Book of Days

21 May 09

This movie requires Adobe Flash for playback.

While I don’t really have an opinion about Enya (I don’t hate her music but I am not a fan either) I am suprised to see that some young gamer dudes used her music to create this brilliant tribute Photobucket When I saw this vid for the first time on youtube I thought, how can anyone not love this game Photobucket

It is a very well done vid, stuff I really liked:

  • the emphasis on the relationship between Master Chief and Cortana through the games
  • @ 0:40 till 0:58 the firing of a beacon by Installation 05 Photobucket
  • at 2:02 Don’t make a girl a promise…if you know you can’t keep it…”

But the best part is the end, where you see Master Chief in the cryotube in HALO CE just before he will get out and, Master Chief in the cryotube in HALO 3 after he just got in it. The beginning and the end closing like a ring.

This vid is created by Veovis 15, great job Photobucket

Rampancy’s quest for Easter Eggs!

12 April 09

Happy Easter peepzPhotobucket

As you know,  the first video game I ever finished was HALO CE and I had no clue of what to do in that game. If you want to read the full story about that go here. Since I fell in love with the game immediately Photobucket I started to read a lot about the game on the internet, one of the things I read about was that people were searching for Easter Eggs which could be found on HALO CE Photobucket Being the total n00b I was I thought they were talking about these Easter Eggs:

Okay, okay not these Easter Eggs Photobucket but the kind with cute colors and a bowPhotobucket I found it really odd that those Easter Egss would be in a game like HALO CE, but I thought maybe it was some randomness from the game developers, who knows.

So when I decided to continue with the game instead of playing the “Pillar of Autumn” over and over again, I was soon playing the second part of the second level, called Reunion Tour. And there my beloved readers, I thought I found my collection of Easter Eggs Photobucket This part of the level is rather mountainy, as you know, and on the ground there were a lot of blue lights which were in my opinion in the shape of eggs. Yes, people I thought these were the Easter Eggs Photobucket I tried to pick them up, dropping all my grenades (since I thought they would fit in those slots ) emptying all my bullets, walking over it, crouching over it, I could go on but you get the idea. It was only years later that I read that those blue lights were there to shape a path so you wouldn’t get lost PhotobucketDid that help me? Something tells me you know the answer already…..

The possibility of discovering an “Installation”?

17 February 09

Well, if you want a chance to discover one of the HALO Rings, I suggest you go over to Galaxy ZOO 2 Photobucket This is what Galazy Zoo 2 is about:

The Galaxy Zoo files contain almost a quarter of a million galaxies which have been imaged with a camera attached to a robotic telescope (the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, no less). In order to understand how these galaxies — and our own — formed, we need your help to classify them according to their shapes — a task at which your brain is better than even the fastest computer.

More than 150,000 people have taken part in Galaxy Zoo so far, producing a wealth of valuable data and sending telescopes on Earth and in space chasing after their discoveries. Zoo 2 focuses on the nearest, brightest and most beautiful galaxies, so to begin exploring the Universe, click the ‘How To Take Part’ link above, or read ‘The Story So Far’ to find out what Galaxy Zoo has achieved to date.

Thanks for your help, and happy classifying.

The Galaxy Zoo team.

If you are familiar with HALO Canon, which I expect you are Photobucket then you should know that all the Installations have already been built by the Forerunner. With a quarter of a million galaxies photographed, there might be an Installation hidden somewhere Photobucket

Some info about a HALO Ring, the diameter of an Installation is 10,000 km and it orbits a planet, but does not encircle it. To help you here are some pictures of Installation 04, the one that got destroyed in HALO CE. Please do cliccies for the very large piccies it will help your “Installation hunting”Photobucket
