Confessions of a HALO Fan 06/14/09
14 June 09There is so much to write, but I don’t know what to choose to write about
Anyway I’m going to spend tonight installing the latest version of EEEbuntu, I am dreading it and I have been avoiding doing it for a while
I have to make a bootable USB stick first, I’ve done it before but still I am not looking forward to this. It suprises me how people see me as a geek
While I consider myself anything but a geek the fact that I seem to know my way around Linux doesn’t mean I feel comfortable doing it. Linux is one hell of a scary experience for me
yes that even includes using the god knows what kind of “buntu”. Don’t come with the “But you even had Debian running for a while and you blogged about it”. If you read that blog properly you would have known I was scared as hell – even leaving some screens up on my computer all the time, because I did not know what kind of evil clicking on “Accept” or “Cancel” would bring me. Making it impossible for me to use my pc for days
until due to some magic it restarted itself. Wasn’t Linux supposed to make life easier
Let’s end up with a happy thought, it seems that whoever was in charge of developing the EEEbuntu logo listened to my criticism about the former EEEbuntu logo ![]()
It now looks like an anal buttplug for beginners
Well, I’m off to create a bootable USB stick, wish me luck
Edit:
I fucking failed at creating an useable bootable USB stick
despite going down the dark cave called Terminal. Off to bed now
